Headed to Summer Camp?
Did you know that research has shown that attendance at Jewish summer camps is a positive predictor of Jewish identity as kids grow up? Did you go to summer camp when you were a kid? What did you love about it?
In No Baths at Camp, when Max’s mom tries to convince him to take a bath, Max continually counters his mother’s demands by explaining to her that there were “no baths at camp!”
Max loved all of the activities he did during his week at camp. He especially loved not taking baths. Max tells his mom about his exciting and messy week of canoeing, hiking, rock climbing, and painting, realizing the many fun ways he got clean at camp.
What activities do you remember from camp? What activities delight your young campers?
